The new Lord Mayor of Cork City – Mick Finn – will meet and greet the Ireland Senior Women’s basketball team at a special community event at the Mardyke Arena UCC in Cork this today, ahead of their FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries campaign which tips off on Tuesday, June 26th at 6.15pm.
Players from the local Green Shoots Academy, Special Olympics team and wheelchair basketball teams will also be in attendance this morning for a photoshoot and will be playing games on the championship court from 11am to 2pm.
