“The announcement of Youth Club Grants to so many local Cork organisations is one of the best Christmas gifts that these clubs and their members could receive,” said local Fianna Fáil TD, Aindrias Moynihan.
Deputy Moynihan was commenting after it was announced that 26 youth organisations in the Mid Cork area have awarded over €86,000 in grants from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
“This is fantastic news for all the clubs and volunteers involved. Supporting our young people is one of the best investments a society can ever make.
“These youth organisations offer a vast array of supports to young people from mental health, to sport, to community leadership and to special needs.
“This funding I know will allow each and every organisation to improve its offering to the young people of Mid Cork.
“A total of €904,000 was awarded to clubs and organisations across the whole of Cork City and County.
“The announcement of funding just before Christmas will act as a great boost for all involved, and I want to pay tribute to each and every official and volunteers who drive each organisation forward on a daily basis.
“My office is available to any organisation in the county that is interested in applying for a grant of this nature, or indeed for any other type of grant. Please do get in touch and I will do my best to support your application,” concluded Moynihan.
