Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Health, Jim Daly, has today confirmed that LEADER funding has been approved for community projects.
Confirming the announcement, Minister Daly said, ‘Minister Ring has confirmed to me that Innishannon playground is to receive €125,000 in funding to assist in their efforts in providing better services to the community, this follows the confirmation of €100,000 for Innishvilla AFC and €115,000 for Valley Rovers GAA under the Sports Capital Grants just one week ago’
Among other projects to receive Leader funding today are the Taste of West Cork Festival and Dunmanway Community Council for the erection of Street name plates.
Adding further to the announcement, Minister Daly commented, ‘ In November when I invited Minister Ring to visit Cork South West, he saw first hand the achievements of past LEADER funding and the impact it has had on rural communities. ’
Concluding the Minister congratulated the community groups on their hard work with preparing the applications and wished them all the best with delivering their projects, ‘volunteers are so important to our rural society and I wish them all the best in their projects which will enhance the area they live in for the entire community.’
