The ‘Pull Up Your Christmas Socks for CUH Children’s Unit’ was initiated to raise further funds for the new Children’s Unit at Cork University Hospital.
On any day in December, you can organise some festive fun in your workplace or your school or college, by putting on a pair of your own festive or Christmas themed socks, which you can buy in any local shop. We suggest a donation of €2 per person, but all donations welcome. To simply sign up, contact niamh@cuhcharity.ie or call (021) 423 4529 for more information and support the work of CUH Children’s Unit throughout December.
CUH Charity is calling on all Cork companies large and small, schools, colleges and individuals to join in the festive fun and wear their Christmas socks to help support the work of the Children’s Unit. Miriam Forde, CUH Charity said at the launch ‘We want everyone to come out in force and have lots of festive fun this Christmas, while at the same time supporting a great cause. Why not get all your colleagues, team or class together in December and wear and show your support for CUH!’.
On an annual basis, over 30,000 children attend the Children’s Unit at CUH. Cork University Hospital is a specialist centre for children with a range of chronic illnesses including Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes and Epilepsy. CUH Charity’s goal is to transform CUH Children’s Unit into a single centre of excellence for Munster and give all children the services and care they truly deserve.
CUH Charity is fundraising for a new 80 bed Inpatient Children’s Unit, which will include new operating theatres and four new separate High Dependency Rooms. Funds raised will help purchase items such as new parent sleeping facilities, medical and respiratory equipment, high grade medical cots and a sensory room for children with intellectual and physical needs.
