Marymount is facing into one of its busiest fundraising weekends of the year with four major events over the course of three days happening.
The big event for the people of Cork to attend is Light up a Life taking place in Marymout Hospice, Curraheen on Sunday 3rd December from 3pm to 5pm with Cork’s Army Band and Frankfield Gospel Choir performing for the crowds before the lights are switched on on the Marymount tree. The Christmas Cracker Cycle in aid of Marymount supported by MSD is also taking place on Saturday 2nd December from 8.30am where novice and serious cyclists can get together, put on a festive Santa hat and Christmas outfit and cycle along West Cork for Marymount. Registration taking place in Marymount from 8.30am on the day.
As well as this the sold-out Marymount ball is taking place on Friday 1st December in the Radisson, Little Island the East Cork Ladie’s Lunch is taking place in Fota Resort that same day.
“We are so grateful to the people of Cork for all of their continued support. Christmas is an important time for fundraising for Marymount,” said Head of Fundraising and Communications Paula McGovern. “It can be a very difficult time for families and we are very sensitive of that also. Our Light up a Life ceremony is a lovely way to remember our loved ones and we ask people to come together in Marymount on the day.”
“All of our events this weekend are necessary as each year we need to raise €3 million – and we are hugely indebted to the people of Cork for helping us to achieve this aim.”
