County Mayor Cllr Declan Hurley & Guests
The coffee morning took place in the Foyer of County Hall and was a wonderful opportunity to invite members of the public into County Hall, catch up over a cup of coffee all the while supporting an incredibly worthy cause.
Paula McGovern, Head of Communications and Fundraising Marymount University Hospital and Hospice also thanked those who supported the Mayor’s Coffee morning, “Marymount University Hospital and Hospice is delighted to be a beneficiary of the County Mayor’s Coffee Morning. We truly value the support of the County Mayor and the people of Cork. Without the support of the people of Cork City and County, we would be unable to continue to deliver Marymount’s services. At Marymount we do not just provide a bed or a home visit – everything we do is underpinned by our values of: respect; compassion; justice; quality and advocacy. We live and breathe our values in all we do. We go to great lengths to ensure that everyone in our services is cared for with dignity and respect. That is why events like these are so important. Thank you again to Mayor Hurley and all who attend this event and other events in aid of Marymount.”
Mayor Hurley went on to say “I can almost be certain when I say each and every one of us has been affected, either directly or indirectly by a diagnosis of cancer. When this happens, services from Marymount Hospice are invaluable so we can care for our loved one during their illness. I know the dedicated service provided by staff in Marymount Hospice from their wonderful new facility or indeed in the home through their Home Care Team. Mornings such as today ensure this vital service can continue and highlight your support for Marymount Hospice.”
