A Book of condolence will open for former Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave at 3.30pm today in the Atrium of Cork City Hall.
Speaking before the opening of the Book of Condolences, the Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Fitzgerald said that it was important that the public would be given the opportunity to recognise and commemorate the passing of Liam Cosgrave.
“It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of former Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave,” said the Lord Mayor.
“ Mr Cosgrave served in Dail Éireann for over 38 years, as a TD, Minister and Taoiseach and his extended period of public service contributed greatly to the development of the State while enduring many challenging times and crises. Throughout his life, Mr Cosgrave was a man of political and personal integrity.”
The Book of Condolences will remain open until Thursday October 19th 2017.
