Random fact: Like many Irish places this area has two spellings: Carrigtwohill, or Carrigtoohill.
Carrigtwohill Business Association has vowed to work with, and support, other voluntary organisations in their area. With this in mind, a financial contribution of €500 was recently presented to the Pride of Place Committee by the Carrigtwohill Business Association in recognition of the astounding efforts by all involved in the recent competition.
Formed three years ago, The Carrigtwohill Business Association currently has almost 100 members. The financial support of Cork County Council, through the town development fund, has been vital to its growth and success to date.
Local County Cllr Anthony Barry (Fine Gael) praised both groups, commenting, “It is wonderful to see volunteerism alive and well and great to see these organisations working together for the betterment of everyone.”
The association will hold a Business Exhibition On Sunday 8th of October in Carrigtwohill Community Centre. This will provide an opportunity for local businesses and voluntary organisations to showcase their products and services to the wider community. This free event promises to be a great family day out with children’s entertainment provided.
“Cork County Council’s support for this event shows how proactive our local authority is in promoting local businesses in our community” said Carrigtwohill Business Association Chairperson Wan Waterman.
