Cork Senator and Leader of the Seanad, Jerry Buttimer has welcomed the appointment of Dalton Philips as CEO of DAA. DAA is the commercial semi-state airport company that owns and operates Cork Airport
Senator Buttimer said: “I welcome his appointment and look forward to working with him in the continuing promotion of Cork airport. I very much want to see the continued growth of Cork Airport continue under Mr Philips’ term.
“The development of Cork Airport goes hand in hand with the development of the whole region and I’m delighted that someone of Mr Philips’ significant experience has taken on this task.
“We need to build on the immense contribution of Kevin Toland, who oversaw an 8% increase in passenger numbers in Cork Airport along with opening new routes to Europe and America.
“Mr Toland demonstrated a keen interest in and commitment to the people of Cork. He played a huge role in securing the future of Cork Airport and directed its emergence into growth.
“I look forward to welcoming Mr Philips to Cork and hope to see the continued expansion and development of Cork Airport under his stewardship. I trust that Cork Airport will remain very high in DAA’s priorities,” said the Fine Gael Senator.
