The Musgrave Group – which owns the Super Valu and Centra franchises – is a historic Cork business. It was founded in 1876 by the Musgrave brothers, and the Musgrave families are said to be one of the ‘Merchant Princes’ of Leeside.
Like all firms, the firm has seen changes of management and marketing over the years. Tonight’s episode of Nationwide on RTE 1 TV features a history of the Musgrave businesses, and an interview with Barry Collins of Collins Super Valu, Carrigaline.
