Anyone who has enjoyed the views of Cork city from the Panorama Terrace at the Montenotte Hotel will appreciate why it was awarded the Hotel Bar of the Year 2017 at the Sky Bar Awards in Dublin this week. Beating off stiff competition from luxury hotels in the capital and across Ireland, the Montenotte Hotel team picked up the highest accolade in the Irish hotel and licensing trade for their unique panoramic bar and bistro overlooking Cork.
Each year, the Sky Bar of the Year Awards recognise excellent bars, knowledgeable staff, quality customer service and innovation in bar trade with their awards. Winning the top gong in the Hotel Bar category for the Panorama Bistro and Terrace is a special achievement for the hotel, which underwent a €6 million refurbishment over the last year.
“Being singled out as the Best Hotel Bar in Ireland is really special for us at the Montenotte Hotel. We are delighted to be awarded the Sky Bar Awards Best Hotel Bar accolade, as it acknowledges the extraordinary team, our unique setting and focus on customer service at the Montenotte Hotel,” said Brian Bowler, General Manager at the Montenotte Hotel.
The Panorama Bistro and Terrace is open 7 days a week, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner as well as providing great views with afternoon tea, coffees and a great place to meet friends and family.
While many of the winners were Dublin establishments, there were a number of Cork winners at the Sky Bar Awards including Cask Bar for Best Cocktail Bar, Woolshed Baa & Grill for Best Bar to Watch the Game, The Piano Bar @ Rachel’s for Outstanding Customer Service and JJ Coppingers picked up the Southern Comfort People’s Choice Award.
