Cork City Football Club announce new enhanced partnership with Cork Airport
The new partnership will see Cork City Football Club branding in various locations in Cork Airport which is the international gateway to the South of Ireland and is uniquely positioned at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Ancient East. It is the country’s second largest and best connected international airport with more choice of routes than any other airport outside of Dublin.
This is a coming together of two very strong Cork brands who are located at the heart of the community and together, we are flying!
As part of this initiative, over the coming months, Cork City FC and Cork Airport will also host a display in the main arrivals hall of a selection of the entries from the recent ‘Clonakilty Pride in Your Jersey’ competition, in association with Clonakilty Food Co., which saw over 2,000 children across Cork city and county design their own jersey and explain why they are so proud to be from Cork.
Almost 1,000 children who entered the competition have already attended a Cork City FC match at Turner’s Cross this season, with many of them already returning as regular visitors.
Head of Communications at Cork Airport, Kevin Cullinane said: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Cork City FC. It is an honour for Cork Airport to play a part and share in the pride and success of the club.
They are an integral part of the fabric of Cork life and give so many locals, young and old an outlet of excitement and opportunity. We wish them continued success”, he added.
Business Development Manager at Cork City Football Club, Lisa Fallon said: “This is a fantastic development in the relationship between ourselves and Cork Airport. Seeing the Cork City Football Club branding proudly displayed throughout the airport is great for the club, our supporters and for the whole area in general. It’s another real show of togetherness between our club and the wider community.
