Cork North West TD, Michael Moynihan has said that it was a distinct pleasure and honour for him to welcome the Duhallow Choral Society to Leinster House last night for a night of music and song.
“As the local TD, I have long known that the Duhallow Choral Society is one of the finest ensembles of singers in the country, and I decided that it would be fantastic for them to showcase their talents at the seat of our national parliament.”
“We are highly fortunate in having a local music society that has travelled the world, and sung for some very most high profile people including US Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton and current President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins.”
“Due to the hard work of the choir who all work on a voluntary capacity and led ably by Brigid Daly, the choral society has for nearly 21 years showcased the best that Duhallow has to offer.”
“I know that I can speak for all my Dáil and Seanad colleagues, irrespective of party colours, that we were all blown away by their talented performance and their passion.”
“I would urge all those in the area to find out when they are next performing and make a special effort to go and see them. It will be worth it,” concluded Moynihan.”
