Cork City WFC welcome Kilkenny United WFC to Bishopstown Stadium this evening at 5pm for the latest game in the Continental Tyre’s Women’s National League.
The game comes on the back of a narrow 1-0 loss to UCD Waves last Sunday at Jackson Park and Cork City WFC manager Frank Kelleher looked back on the game; “If I’m honest I was disappointed with the result against UCD once again. I think that the 1-0 defeat didn’t really reflect the nature of the game I think that both teams were very evenly matched I think we played very very well for good periods of the game. We had some great chances in the second half that we just
didn’t convert so it was a disappointment for us but again we’ve picked ourselves up this week training we’re really looking forward to the Kilkenny game on Saturday now. “Looking ahead to Sundays clash with Kilkenny he continued; “Kilkenny have definitely closed the gap on the rest of the teams they’ve had a couple of good results against Galway and Peamount but we’ve had fantastic training intensity this week the majority of our players are fit to play which is
really good so we’re looking forward to the game I expect us to do really well in this fixture.”
Injuries: Kate O’Donovan and Stacey Paul will both miss Saturdays game through injury.
