Cork City WFC make the trip to Jackson Park this Sunday 23rd of April to face UCD
Waves in their third game of the Continental Tyre’s Women’s National League kicking off at
2.00pm.
The game comes off the back of a narrow defeat at the hands of Peamount United last Saturday
where City lost out 2-1. Looking back at the game Cork City WFC manager Frank Kelleher said; “
So reflecting on the Peamount game I was overall pleased with the performance particularly with
the second half and I was disappointed with the result and that we didn’t at least get a draw. The
players really improved their performance in the second half and that was the key to putting us back
on level terms with Peamount and even when the own goal went in the team continued to play with
a good intensity. Overall the group was disappointed with the final result”
Looking ahead to UCD he continued; “ Training has gone very well this week and we are looking
forward to playing UCD this Sunday we have really worked on our intensity and work rate this
week as we know it will be required to get a result in Dublin. We have particularly focused on
making sure on when we are out of position we immediately look to press the opposition in the right
area’s only”.
