The weekend of 7th-9th April is a bumper one in Kinsale, with Bank of Ireland Kinsale Enterprise Town taking place at the Sáile Community Centre on Friday 7th April from 6-9pm with a Business, food and fashion focus, then on Saturday 8th April from 9am-1pm with a sports and societies theme.
Then from 12-3pm on Saturday 8th April, Super Valu Kinsale celebrates its National Super Valu Store of the Year 2017 Award with a party to which everyone is welcome to join in the tastings, entertainment, face painting and gifts.
Kinsale’s Taste the Wild Atlantic Way Street Food Festival takes place also on Saturday 8th April from 2-4pm with many restaurants, cafes and shops setting up stalls and showcasing delicious tastes from €2-€5.
Why not start in Sáile, then nip down to Super Valu and finish up the afternoon grazing in Kinsale and joining in the festive atmosphere?
On Sunday 9th April the All Ireland Chowder Cook-Off takes place in the big marquee on Actons lawn with counties from all over Ireland competing to become the All Ireland Chowder Champion and booking a place at Newport Rhode Island next year. Other events in Kinsale in April include The Fleadh Cheoil Chorcaí 2017, hosted by Comhaltas Ballinspittle from 21st-23rd April. This promises to be a fantastic event where there will be a fantastic showcase of traditional music throughout the weekend.
The Annual Heineken Kinsale rugby 7s take place in Kinsale RFC on 28th & 29th April over the May Bank Holiday Weekend, where over 80 teams compete for men and women’s trophies in a number of categories.
The Emergency Medical Services Gathering takes place on 4th & 5th May, followed by The Blue Haven Vintage Car Rally follows soon after on 5th-8thMay, Kinsale Point to Point Weekend over the June Bank Holiday weekend, Midsummer Madness on 21st June and the O’Leary Life Sovereign’s Cup 21st-24th June. So it’s an action-packed first half of the year all round in Kinsale for 2017!
