Gardai in Watercourse Rd are investigating the discovery of the body of a woman in her late 30’s at a house in Pophams Road, Farranree, Cork City at approximately 3am this morning.

A male in his 40’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Mayfield Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The body of the deceased remains at the scene. The offices of the State Pathologist have been notified and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
