Cork City Council with Co Sponsors Maxi Zoo are proud to announce that the 2nd annual Dog Fouling awareness campaign begins this week.
The launch will take place today in the Concert Hall, City Hall at 2pm.
The initiative aims to improve awareness of the problem that indiscriminate dog fouling creates; specifically it will educate people about the dangers to human health – especially to those with disabilities, visual impairment, and the elderly.
Last week six City Councillors met in committee to discuss the issue. One Councillor from each ward invited 2 schools from their ward to enter an art/poster competition. They are being supported by the Environment and Recreation Directorate of Cork City Council.
Each school will also receive a framed certificate of participation in the campaign. The winning art piece will be used to front the campaign in 2018.
