The Seandun Macra na Feirme One Act Drama final took place in Ringaskiddy Hall on Sunday February 26th. Three teams contested the final. On the night Glanmire performed ‘Bloody Actors’, Whitechurch ‘Exit Right, Running’ while Kinsale performed ‘Victor’s Dung’. The standard was incredibly high and judge Tony McCleane-Fay certainly had his work cut out for him in selecting the two teams that would progress to the next round and represent Seandun in the up-coming National Semi-Finals.
Congratulations to the following individual award winners on the night: best actor: Jonathan Quinn (Kinsale), best supporting actor: Eoin O’ Donovan (Kinsale), best actress: Ellen Murphy (Whitechurch), best supporting actress: Mairead O’ Driscoll (Glanmire) and best producer: Colm O’ Donovan (Kinsale). Well done to Whitechurch Macra who were awarded runners-up and to Kinsale who are the 2017 Seandun drama champions. Both teams now have just less than a month to prepare for the next competitive stage of the competition which will be the National Semi-Finals, to take place on Saturday April 1st.
