Little Island continues to become a large business area, thanks to the work of the Little Island Business Association
Angela Garvey, Managing Partner at AG Associates Accountants was announced as the winner of the Business Person of the Year 2016 Award at the recent Little Island Business Awards at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Cork.
This award recognises outstanding achievements of one business person in Little Island and area who has demonstrated exceptional ability in their business and proven that their desire to succeed is of great benefit to their business and the community.

Commenting on her award Angela Garvey said, “It was a complete surprise and I was thrilled to be selected. Winning the award is simply fantastic for us as we celebrate 10 years in business this year. It’s an honour to receive this award and to be recognised amongst my peers. We had a great night amongst the many successful local business men and women working in innovative businesses from the Little Island area.”
AG Associates moved to their offices in Eastgate Way, Little Island in Cork in 2013 and employs 8 accountants. The firm has a large client portfolio with companies in the financial services, technology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, insurance, IT, retail, healthcare and the service sectors all benefitting from the team’s advice and wide range of services.
“Typically business owners only see their accountant once a year. When I started in 2006, I wanted to change that. I wanted business owners, regardless of the size of their set-ups, to make better, informed decisions and get value added support from their accountant. Ten years later we are serving multi-nationals operating globally as well as locally-based businesses”, said Angela Garvey.
AG Associates was also a finalist for Best Small Business of the Year 2016 Award at the awards ceremony.
