Retailers and their suppliers across Cork continue to work together to be at the forefront of driving customer excellence in Ireland with some of the county’s leading stores and ecommerce provider StudioForty9 recognised at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2017 in association with Barclaycard.
Following hundreds of entries Retail Excellence Ireland awarded the best in class winners with the Cork wins coming from Mellerick Pharmacy, Fermoy which won Pharmacy Store of the Year 2017, Smith’s SuperValu, Kinsale Road which won Supermarket of the Year 2017, Scally’s SuperValu, Clonakilty took away the inaugural Consumer Choice Award 2017 and StudioForty9 who won Supplier of the Year 2017.
Commenting on the wins Lynn Drumgoole, Director of Communications at Retail Excellence Ireland said ‘Cork is at the leading edge of innovative in retail providing shopping experiences where customers can enjoy quality products and exceptional customer service across the county. The sectoral winners went through a thorough process to come out on top and our Consumer Choice Award was chosen by the public after we shortlisted 10 superb stores from around the country and asked them to vote for their favourite store.’
Cork also had nominations in the Manager of the Year and Rising Star of the Year, where Sinead Nunan, ECCO, Princes Street and Stephanie Kenny, Eason, Patrick Street were shortlisted respectively. Co-op Superstores the retail division of Dairygold Co-Operative Society Ltd were also shortlisted in the Top3 for the Website of the Year Award.
The Awards were presented on Saturday evening (5th November) by Hector Ó hEochagáin. The sell-out event was attended by more than 500 Irish retail industry executives. The Awards are the biggest event in the Irish retail industry calendar.
