Five specialist travel agents from Spain have been enjoying a fact-finding visit of Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. The group was made up of ELT (English Language Training) specialists – responsible for putting in place arrangements for Spanish students who wish to travel abroad to improve their English.
They were here to check out our excellent language schools, as well as some of the many things to see and do here which appeal to Spanish students. During their time here, they took in counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
During their time in Cork city, the agents visited Cork English College and Cork English Academy. The next day, they visited the UCC Language Centre, Cork English World on Bishop Street and Access English Campus on the Model Farm Road. Then it was on to Kinsale, for lunch at the Blue Haven Restaurant and a visit to Charles Fort. They continued to Bandon, to visit the Executive Language Training Ireland School. They stayed in the River Lee Hotel.
Barbara Wood, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential ELT agents to visit Ireland, so they could see for themselves some of our wonderful language facilities and the many attractions on offer here for Spanish students. We have been working hard to promote the island of Ireland in Spain as an attractive host destination for students wishing to improve their English. We know that Ireland appeals to these influential agents and their students, as a dynamic and modern destination with a high standard of education, known for its rich culture and the warm welcome extended to visitors.”
