European Affairs Minister Dara Murphy was in Denmark recently, where he met the Tourism Ireland team in Copenhagen. Minister Murphy was briefed on Tourism Ireland’s extensive promotional programme, which is in full swing right now, to boost tourism from the Nordic Region to the island of Ireland this autumn and into 2017.
Aileen Hickey, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Nordic Region, said: “The Nordic Region is an important market for tourism to the island of Ireland, with the latest CSO figures indicating growth of about +3.5% in Nordic visitors to Ireland, for the January to August period. We are rolling out our autumn campaign right now, targeting potential holidaymakers for city and rural breaks in Ireland, to keep the momentum going and boost business in the shoulder and off-peak season.”
