Cork jewellery store, Designworks Studio (Cornmarket Street, Cork City Centre), is marking five years of business with the unveiling of a spectacular new jewellery collection. Aptly named Duille Nua, or “New Leaf”, the collection is designed by head-goldsmith and Designworks owner, Tuula Harrington.
Her latest collection incorporates “a combination of materials, and plays with imagery of the stylised leaf and simplistic branch. It is inspired by the idea of fresh beginnings and a sense of renaissance.”
This new collection will be unveiled tomorrow, June 30th, with an evening champagne reception for clients.
Commenting on the five-year milestone, Ms Harrington said: “When I launched the Designworks Studio in 2011, I wanted to promote authentic Irish design and craftsmanship, and keep the trade alive by supporting craftspeople in the industry. In the past five years, we have experienced positive growth and we are now firmly established as a well-regarded, independent business.”
Many of the gallery’s featured designers will be in attendance at Thursday’s event, with some of their new work also to be unveiled. Along with the creation of one-off, bespoke handmade pieces, Designworks Studio also offers a wide collection of ready-to-wear pieces.
