Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a two car fatal traffic collision at the Skew Bridge, Tivoli (on the lower Glamire Road), Cork. The bridge which brings road traffic over a Railway line is an accident blackspot in Cork, being located on the main route from the City Centre to East Co Cork.
At approximately 4pm today a female in her 60’s was seriously injured when the car she was passenger in was involved in a two car collision. She was taken by Ambulance to Cork University Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Four other persons were injured and also taken to Hospital where their injuries are described as non life threatening.
As of 7pm the scene was preserved for a forensic and technical examination and local diversions are in place. The Coroner has been notified.
