Twisted, a new addition to the wining, dining and social scene in Kinsale, is about to shake things up this summer with the launch of their new summer menu. The popular restaurant has been open less than a year and a half but already is renowned for its high end food and quirky yet relaxed dining experience.
To kick off the summer season and launch their highly anticipated new summer menu, Twisted will host a summer launch party on Thursday, 9th June in aid of La Esperanza Granada, a charity based in Granada that focusses on children’s education. Maria Diaz, a waitress in Twisted is set to travel to Granada at the end of the month to personally deliver the funds raised and to volunteer for a few months.
Head Chef Guillermo Carrión Garcia is a Michelin trained chef from San Sebastian and has taken inspiration from his past in order to create a unique and mouth-watering new summer menu that is like no other. New additions to the menu for the summer season include Piquillo Peppers stuffed with Lamb in Biscaina Sauce, melt in the mouth Beef Cheeks, house cured fillet beef rolls stuffed with sweet potato, served with wasabi mayo and topped with fresh thinly sliced radish, Nikkei Avocado roll – an avocado roll stuffed with wakame seaweed and topped with sweet potato strings and served with ponzu sauce and Free Range Organic Chicken Roulade with Cherry Woods, plus much more.
The summer menu will also include specials that will change daily and a variety of wines personally sourced from small family-run vineyards around Europe.
Speaking about the launch event, Maushmi Arun, who is the owner of Twisted with her partner Christophe Moreau, said, “We really wanted to open up a restaurant that was different and quirky and I think we have definitely achieved that. The atmosphere in Twisted is very relaxed and perfect for the summer clientele in Kinsale who want to relax and enjoy some delicious high end food in a fun and laid back environment.”
Maushmi continued “Our new summer menu is something we are very proud of and our chef Guillermo has certainly outdone himself with the exciting dishes he has chosen. We wanted to launch the summer menu with a bang and as we always look to help others and give back where we can, we have decided to raise money on the night for underprivileged kids in Granada, where our colleague Maria will be heading in the coming weeks to volunteer and help the children in need”.
