The Cork Summer Show Pet Dog Show, is calling on all pooches and pedigree owners to participate in this year’s competition. The Cork Summer Show Pet Dog Show is one of the biggest dog shows in Munster and is open to pet and pedigree dogs.
The 2016 Cork Summer Pet Dog Show has 10 award categories and will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June at the Showgrounds in Curraheen, Cork.
“The Pet Dog Show is one of the most popular elements of the Cork Summer Show. Last year we had more than 400 dogs and owners participate in the competition. Our Pet Dog Show is open to all canines – mutt or pedigree. Our highly skilled judges will be looking for dogs that are fun, happy, talented and charming, so if you think that your dog fits the bill then be sure to bring your dog this year,” said Gerard Murphy, Chairman of the Munster Agriculture Society.
The competition categories include awards for best groomed dog, best puppy (over 6 months and under 12 months), small dog, medium dog, large dog, terrier, rescue dog and the much coveted ‘dog I would like to take home’.
“This year our judges are also going to award those young exhibitors – 12 years and under – who display excellent handling skills while showing their pet dogs. There will also be an award for those adults with the same skillset,” he added.
An entry fee of €2 will be charged per dog with all proceeds going to Pieta House. Entries will be taken on the day from 1pm and showings will begin at 2pm. For further information, please see www.corksummershow.ie.
