To celebrate the UN World Day for Cultural Diversity, Bank of Ireland are hosting a Multicultural Day today (Friday 20 May) across 13 branches, including the Patrick Street branch in Cork, from 10am-2pm. The events in Patrick Street branch on the day will feature local performance groups and food stands run by people from different nationalities who have been invited to showcase their goods and celebrate their culture.
Ita O’Sullivan BOI Startup Community Manager for Cork said:
“Bank of Ireland recognises the importance of celebrating the diversity of both our branch customers and staff who will showcase their cultures at Multicultural Day hosted in the Patrick Street branch. Inclusiveness is one of the key messages for the UN Cultural Diversity Day and the event will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity and multiculturalism in our community.
“In the Patrick Street branch, the event will include a multicultural food fair, face-painting, hair-braiding and a performance area with multicultural choirs and dancers. There will be a variety of local community groups involved in the event.”
