Cork accountant Deirdre Kiely, FCPA, has been re-elected Vice President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) at the Annual General Meeting of Members held recently in Dublin.
Ms Kiely, originally from Mallow, is a Principal of Kiely & Co. Accountants and Business Advisers, which is based in Dublin and provides auditing and accountancy services to SME entrepreneurs. She has extensive experience in the charities and not for profit sector and advises charities on financial reporting and the regulations of the Charities Act 2009.
Qualifying as a CPA in 1990, M. Kiely was elected to Council at the Institute in April 2012. She is a past chair and member of the Auditing Committee and Financial Reporting Committee at CPA Ireland.
A qualified Barrister and an Accredited Mediator with Mediation Forum Ireland, Ms Kiely is also a board member of the Social Finance Foundation and chair of the audit committee. She is a past board member of Enterprise Ireland’s South West Regional Board and the board of the children’s charity Barnardos.
She will support newly elected President, Ms Nano Brennan, Government Auditor alongside fellow Vice President, Cormac Mohan.
