Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. John Paul O’Shea, held a Civic Reception for the Irish Road Bowling Association (Bol Chumann na hÉireann) in recognition of their work over their 62 year history.
The Association’s Executive was joined at the reception by the 29 bowlers of the current Irish team who are off to the prestigious Bowling European Championship in The Netherlands this summer.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr John Paul O’Shea said “Bol Chumann na hÉireann is now in its’ 62nd year and a huge amount of work has been done behind the scenes to bring the sport to where it is today. It is important at a time like this to acknowledge everyone who has contributed over the years to the thriving organisation you have collectively nurtured. I am honoured to receive you here today and wish each and every one of you every success in the European Championships.”
