Gardaí investigating a robbery that occurred at a service station in Brooklodge, Glanmire, Coy Cork on Monday 18th April 2016 at approximately 7.15pm wish to renew their appeal for witnesses.
A lone male arrived at the scene driving a wine coloured Fiat Punto, partial registration 98-D. He then entered the premises, in possession of a firearm. He gained access behind the shop counter and demanded a staff member to put money from the cash registers into a bag which he provided.
The culprit exited the shop and fled the scene in the wine coloured Fiat Punto in the direction of Knockraha. This car was later located abandoned at Templenacarriga, Midleton, Co Cork. It was seized for a technical examination.
The culprit is described as being male, approximately 6′ in height and of athletic build. He was wearing a hooded top that is light grey on the top and black on the bottom, black tracksuit bottoms and dark coloured footwear.
It is now believed that this Fiat Punto was in the gereral Knockraha/Glanmire area from at least 3.30pm on the day of the Robbery. It is also believed that due to a mechanical issue with the car it may have had to stop in a Garage for water.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who may have observed the wine coloured Fiat Punto prior to its arrival at Brooklodge or subsequent discovery at Templenacarriga to contact them at Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
