Tune in to Cork’s 93.1 LifeFM from Easter Sunday 27th March and go back 100 years to Easter 1916 and join us as the events of The Rising and of that fateful week unfold, performed as a modern day newscast.
Each day during Easter week until the 4th of April, hear the news of The Rising as it happened 100 years ago. From the capture of the gun-running ship ‘The Aud’, through the reading of the Proclamation on the steps of the GPO, the great march to Béal na Bláth by Cork Volunteers and the taking of Enniscorthy, to the eventual surrender and the collapse of the insurrection.
The 1916 newscast can be heard throughout the day, starting at 8am then at 11am, 1pm, 4pm, 6pm & 9pm
