Gardaí in Clonakilty, West Cork are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Togher Village, Co Cork this evening.
At approximately 5.30pm a car and a 4 x4 collided two miles east of Togher Village on the Bantry to Crookestown Road (locally known as “Bantry Line”) R585. The male driver – aged in his 30’s – of the car was seriously injured and was airlifted to CUH where he is described as being in a critical condition. The male driver of the 4×4 was also taken to CUH but his injuries are described as non life threatening. There was no one else in either vehicles.
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and there are diversions in place.
