St. Finbarr’s National Hurling and Football Club, Togher will host Ireland’s favourite Joe Dolan Tribute act and the City of Cork Male Voice Choir on Sunday, March 20th, in a musical night not to be missed, in aid of the Mercy Hospital Foundation.
Paschal Brennan, together with his superb live band will recreate the magic of the music of Ireland’s greatest showband performer, Joe Dolan with passion and style. Coupled with his incredible stage show, Paschal will deliver powerful renditions of all those great floor filling classics made famous by the Mullingar man.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are priced at €20 for the event that will also see the City of Cork Male Voice Choir perform. Funds raised will go towards the work of Dr Terry O’Connor, Consultant Respiratory Services and St. Catherine’s Ward in the Mercy University Hospital.
A Wrist-worn Pulse Oximeter will be donated to Dr O’Connor Respiratory Services. A Pulse Oximeter is used to measure oxygen levels in the blood and heart rate for patients with COPD, asthma, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and other conditions. COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe and Pulse Oximeter is useful as a tool to assist COPD patients and their doctor to adjust their oxygen flow at home, during exercise, and during social activities. It can also assist doctors in deciding if a person’s COPD is getting worse.
Funds will also go toward purchasing equipment for St Catherine’s Ward including a humidification system which delivers warmed and humidified oxygen to patients with breathing difficulties, and a bladder scanner which is a non-invasive, portable ultrasound device that provides a doctors with a virtual 3D image of the bladder.
Deirdre Finn, Community & Events Fundraiser at the Mercy Hospital Foundation said “Our mission is to inspire people to support advancements in research, diagnosis, treatments and care of patients at The Mercy University Hospital, the People’s Hospital. We promise to do our very best to provide you with a world class hospital, right on your doorstep, and this is only possible through the help of our supporters and donors like those who will enjoy a great night of music and craic on March 20th in St. Finbarr’s GAA.”
