Clonakilty, West Cork is to get new Fire Station. The announcement is part of a new €40m programme of construction / refurbishment of 26 fire stations for the five year period 2016 – 2020. The programme will see 16 new fire station construction projects initiated between now and 2020, along with 10 fire station upgrades / refurbishments.
In welcoming the news Local Deputy Michael McCarthy (Labour) said, “The construction of a new fire station will be a welcome sight for the local community and the state of the art new facility will be a much needed and welcome facility for Clonakilty.
