Áine Collins, Fine Gael TD for Cork North-West, has today (Wednesday) called on Cork County Council and it’s Councillors to carry out a safety report on all National Schools across Cork County.
“It was brought to my attention by a concerned parent, whose children attend Banteer National School, one of many national schools with safety concerns around their school entrance”.
Below is a Google Streetview image showing the small number of spaces, other schools are similar.
Áine Collins, Fine Gael TD said:
“The parking at Banteer National School is chaotic and poses a serious threat to health and safety to both parents and children. “While I have been in contact with Cork County Council with regards to Banteer National School I’m calling for an investigation to begin immediately for all National Schools across Cork County. Cork County Council needs to make this a priority in order to ensure children’s safety is paramount as they attend their local National School.”
