Organsiers say: “Excitement is mounting for this year’s annual Surgeon Noonan Ball, set to enchant society supporters on February 6th next.”
Rochestown Park Hotel will play host to a “Starry Starry Night”. The society wishes to invite members of the local community and beyond to come together to dine and dance under African Stars.
The evening will begin at 6pm with welcoming gin and champagne, and an opportunity to catch up with friends and other guests. Thereafter, everyone will be seated to enjoy a five course meal, followed by our raffle and an opportunity for whirling and twirling to the music of the nationally acclaimed Cork Pops Orchestra under the baton of Evelyn Grant (RTÉ lyric fm).
This year’s guest speaker will be Mr. Liam Horgan. A Consultant Surgeon, past UCC graduate and Noonanite, he will be traveling over from the UK to speak about his continuous work in East Africa, and the challenges he faces carrying out surgeries in under-resourced hospitals.
Funds raised from the ball and our efforts throughout the year go directly to the hospitals where society members volunteer at in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania this summer.
