Cork North Central TD Dara Murphy launched his re-election campaign last evening, at a well attended event in The Kingsley Hotel in Victoria Cross.

Dara Murphy (born 2 December 1969) was elected to the Dail in the 2011 general election. He prsviously servec as a Cork City Councillor including one term as a Lord Mayor. He was first elected to the Cork City Council in 2004, and served as Deputy Lord Mayor from 2005 to 2006. He also served as the first Chair of the Cork Joint Policing Committee.
In July 2014, he was appointed as Minister of State with responsibility for European Affairs and Data Protection at the Departments of the Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs and Trade.
