Fine Gael TD for Cork South Central, Jerry Buttimer, has said that funding of €900,000 announced today for Cork Institute of Technology will help meet the cost of much needed facilities and equipment. The funding is part of a €10 million Infrastructure Maintenance Fund Grant for Institutes of Technology. It will allow Cork IT to meet costs already incurred on a range of small-scale building works, refurbishment of existing facilities and upgrading equipment. This is work that is of benefit to all students.
Speaking to TheCork.ie Jerry Buttimer said:
“CIT provides high quality education and today’s funding is evidence of the Government’s commitment to supporting it in continuing to do this.
“Fine Gael has a long term plan to keep the recovery going. We are seeing economic progress, with over 135,000 more people at work. More people in work allows more investment in better services like these.”
