Cork City Council has confirmed that the rate of discharge from Inniscarra Dam is to continue at the rate of 180 cubic metres per second.
This is due to the heavy rainfall that occurred in the western part of the Lee Catchment over the past few days.
The City Council wishes to inform the public that there will be a continuing risk of flooding on the Lee Road & Carrigrohane Road. Traffic diversions will be in place as required.
Cork City Council have this evening said that flooding in not anticipated for Cork City Centre.
The Cork Flood Assessment team will continue to keep issues under review and the Cork City Council will continue to work in close liaison with the ESB , An Garda Síochána, Met Eireann and the Emergency Services.
