Cork City Council has advised that the ESB is facilitating an increased through-flow of water at the Inniscarra Dam.
This is due to the heavy rainfall in recent days in the western part of the River Lee catchment.
The ESB has indicated that the discharge of water from Inniscarra Dam is being increased to 180 cubic metres per second and that there is a potential risk of flooding on Lee Rd & Carrigrohane Rd. At this time, Cork City Council wishes to advise that flooding is not anticipated for Cork City Centre. The situation is being monitored and the public will be updated as necessary.
The Cork Flood Assessment team has been and is continuing to work in close liaison with the ESB , An Garda Síochána ,Met Eireann and the Emergency Services.
