Travelling to Cork city to stock up on Christmas presents or socialise with friends and family over the festive period? Bus Éireann can take you there – and home again.
Customers can choose from a number of value options, and leave the car behind. These include:
· Nightrider Bus Services
· Park and Ride Services
· Day return promotions to and from West Cork to Cork City
Cork City Christmas Nightrider Bus Service
Bus Éireann will provide late night services on Fridays and Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas from Cork city to Carrigaline, Ballincollig and Midleton. The services will operate from Cork city centre on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th December 2015. Buses on each service will depart from St. Patrick’s Street at 1am, 2am and 3am.
The Carrigaline service will depart from Brown Thomas and will serve Douglas East Village, Maryborough Hill and Carrigaline.
The Ballincollig service will depart outside Debenhams and will operate via Washington Street, Wilton Roundabout, Bishopstown via Curraheen Road, Melbourne Road and Ballincollig.
The Midleton service departs outside the Savoy and will serve Glanmire, Glounthaune, Carrigtwohill and Midleton.
Single journey fares are €3 to Glanmire / Glounthaune / Douglas & Bishopstown, €5 to Ballincollig / Carrigaline & Carrigtwohill, and €8 to Midleton.
Customers can purchase Cork City Christmas Nightrider tickets on the bus.
Park and Ride Service
A Park and Ride service will operate from County Hall to Sheare’s Street – this park and ride will operate on Saturdays and Sundays only beginning Saturday 28th November to Sunday 20th December.
This Service will operate every fifteen minutes from 09.30 on Saturdays and 10.30 on Sundays, with the last bus departing from Sheare’s Street at 20.30 hours.
Adult Fares are €3, children travel for €1.50, and family tickets are available for €5 (covering two adults and three children). Fares are payable on the bus and cover parking and bus travel.
Day return promotions to / from West Cork to Cork City
Adults can avail of a €15 Day Return Fare, with children travelling for €10 Day Return from West Cork to Cork City. These promotions are available on the Route 236 serving Glengarriff, Bantry, Drimoleague and Dunmanway. Customers can also travel at this discounted rate on the Route 237 serving Goleen, Schull, Skibbereen, Roscarbery and Clonakilty.
Tickets can be purchased on the bus and in the Bus Éireann Travel Centre, Bus Station, Parnell Place, Cork.
