Wow, a bank that is opening a new branch surely not? Yes!, KBC Bank Ireland will officially mark the opening of its new retail banking hub in Wilton Shopping Centre at 11am on Saturday, 28th November.
That said, the Bank’s Cork connections are diluted somewhat by the address of the new branch being given as “Sarsfield Road”. No Cork person would refer to the Wilton Shopping Centre as being on that road, even if technically it is! The Shopping Centre IS a location in and of itself, without need for embellishment.
For the opening KC from RedFM will act as a lively MC for the morning’s activities, which includes a special guest appearance from David Wallace, the former Munster, Ireland and British and Irish Lions player who has the distinction of being the only Irish rugby international to be elected to the IRUPA Hall of Fame by past players. David will be on hand from 11am – 1pm to sign autographs, take pictures and participate in a special sports Q&A with KC. There will be a outdoor marquee located just outside the hub with complimentary refreshments and plenty to keep the kids busy, with colouring competitions and spot prizes to be won on the day.

The hub’s opening hours are Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.30pm, with late opening on Thursday (until 7pm) and Saturday opening from 10.00am – 2.00pm. It is also home to special customer evenings and events throughout the year as part of community life in the city.
