Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada today met with Mrs. Patricia Mallon, Honorary Consul of France in Cork to express her solidarity and sympathies in the wake of the attacks in France.

Following the meeting Ní Riada said:
“I want to pledge my solidarity and extend my deepest sympathies to the people of Paris following the horrific attacks that took place last week. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones or sustained injuries in the attacks.
“My thoughts are with all victims of the global wars which engulf us today, wars in which it is civilian populations who suffer the most These conflicts are causing destruction and suffering in so many countries, and to so many civilians.
“World leaders must redouble efforts to resolve conflict and to build peace.”
