Rebrand is part of a €15M plus investment in the Irish healthcare sector
Euromedic Cork today announced a rebrand to Affidea Cork and officially unveils its new look and feel. The rebrand is part of Affidea Ireland’s €15m investment in the Irish healthcare sector. Olympic Racewalker, Rob Heffernan attended the unveiling at Affidea’s state-of-the-art Cork clinic.
Affidea, Ireland’s leading independent diagnostic imaging provider, has had a major impact on primary healthcare since its establishment in Ireland in 2007. It’s presence in the market significantly increased the availability of diagnostic services to patients. This increased capacity enabled costs, such as that of MRIs, to fall dramatically to a current average cost of €250 today. In 2016, Affidea will conduct over 160,000 MRI and other diagnostic services for patients, of which, 47% are covered by private health insurance and 45% pay cash in order to escape long public waiting lists.
Clinic Manager at Affidea Cork, Cora Caroll said: “It is very exciting to be officially unveiling our new Affidea Cork brand today. Whilst our name has changed, patients attending the clinic will continue to receive the same professional levels of service that they have become accustomed to. It is our mission to provide access to MRI and other imaging services to the County Cork region and beyond in a convenient primary care setting.”
Present at the official opening was Olympic Racewalker, Rob Heffernan who said: “This service is great for Cork City and the surrounding areas. I recently underwent a scan here at the clinic when it was Euromedic. My experience was comfortable, quick and the staff were exceptional. We are lucky to have such a professional service on our doorstep.”
Affidea Ireland, as part of its investment in the Irish healthcare sector, will create 100 new jobs. The jobs, which will be a mix of clinical and administrative roles, will be spread across clinics, current and new. This will include an enhanced presence across Dublin and a new presence across the West Coast and Midlands. These jobs will be created over the next 18 months.
Gamma Knife
Affidea Group is already a leader in the provision of cancer care services to public patients on behalf of health ministries. Affidea Ireland also announces its commitment to provide Gamma Knife treatment to patients on the island of Ireland. This state-of-the-art service is used for the treatment of head and neck cancers, AVM ((Arteriovenous Malformation) repair and some cases of Parkinson’s and epilepsy. Affidea Ireland will be bringing this treatment to Ireland for the first time.
Euromedic Rebranding as Affidea
Euromedic is rebranding to Affidea to ensure a uniform identity across Europe, to aid European growth and support the organisations aggressive global expansion plans, and has been masterminded by global brand expert Peter Economides. Peter was the brand expert behind Apple’s infamous ‘Think Different’ campaign amongst others. The Dundrum clinic will be the first to showcase the new brand with all other Euromedic clinics rebranding by the end of November.
