I’ve never been a fan of gambling, as 9 times out of 10 I end up losing my stake!
But like it or not gambling is legal in Ireland, and provides entertainment for many.
One Cork punter must have had a magic ball when placing his football accumulator as it bagged them a staggering €24,443.64.
The monster accumulator had a total of ten match bets to win across the Championship, League One and League Two fixtures on Saturday.
The two selections from the Championship were Burnley, to win over Huddersfield at 5/6, and Hull, to win over MK Dons at 21/20.
In League One the selections were Bury, to win against Blackpool at 10/11, Crewe to win against Sheff Utd at 11/2, Chesterfield, to win against Fleetwood Town at 9/5, Scunthorpe, to win against Barnsley at 23/20 and Wigan to win their clash with Swindon at 40/85.
The final three selections came from League Two and were, Carlisle, at 8/11 to win over Yeovil, Plymouth, at 20/23 to win over Morecambe and Oxford Utd, at 5/6 to win over Stevenage.
The bet had a total stake of just €10 and when clicked returned a phenomenal €24,443.64
Aoife Heffron, from the PR Office at BoyleSports commented “We want to wish the Cork punter massive congratulations on their sensational selections in the tenfold football accumulator and fantastic winnings of €24,443.64.”
