Cork University Maternity Hospital will be holding their annual Service of Remembrance on Friday of next week (16th October, 2015) at 7.30pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork for anyone who has experienced pregnancy or infant loss.
CUMH warmly welcomes all parents and families who have experienced the death of a baby – this includes miscarriages, stillbirths, neonatal and infant deaths.
Light refreshments will be served after the service and there will be an opportunity to meet the hospital staff and other parents. Additional parking is available in the adjacent UCC Western Gate Building, Western Road, Cork.
Daniel Nuzum, Hospital Chaplain, said ‘Our annual ecumenical Service of Remembrance is a very important event in the life of our hospital community as we join with bereaved parents, families and staff colleagues to remember those whose short lives have touched ours. During a reflective and gentle ceremony of music, reading, symbol and prayer there will be an opportunity to light a candle, inscribe a leaf of remembrance on the Remembrance Tree and to write an inscription in our Book of Remembrance.’
If further information is required please contact Daniel Nuzum, on behalf of the Pregnancy Loss Service on 021 4920500.
