Details of the Ballincollig Business Awards were, today, announced by Chairman of the Ballincollig Business Association, Emer Cassidy and Áine Collins TD for Cork North West. Guest of honour will be An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD, who will also be presenting the prestigious awards. This event will take place on Friday 12th June at 12:30pm at the Oriel House Hotel, is sponsored by AIB and EMC, and will be a luncheon event with over 100 Ballincollig businesses represented.
The event will also celebrate the incredible development that has happened in Ballincollig over the past three years since the Association was formed. Emer Cassidy, who is also one of the founding committee members stated “Since we formed the association we have succeeded in giving the businesses of Ballincollig a voice locally and nationally. We work hard to develop and promote Ballincollig as a shopping, business, and leisure destination throughout Munster and beyond and having our Taoiseach celebrating with us today is validation of all the hard work and cooperation of everyone in Ballincollig.”
“These awards give us the opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved during the past three years as we recognise and celebrate the businesses that have made an impact, creating jobs, providing valuable services and products, and generally contributing so positively to our special town that we are so proud of.”
Speaking at the announcement Áine Collins TD stated “When I extended the invitation to An Taoiseach on behalf of Emer and her colleagues, he didn’t hesitate but make space in his busy calendar to join us on this special day. This will be his second time in three years at the Awards, and it demonstrates just how important recognising business enterprise in satellite towns is to him.”
“I am so thrilled that he will see first hand the development in the area, from increased investment by our large employers like EMC and VMWare, to the increase in the number of small family businesses, generating a livelihood for so many people in the town. He will also see first hand the increased amenities, including the fabulous new leisure facilities, walkways and play areas in Ballincollig Regional Park. Ballincollig truly is a wonderful place to work, live and play.”
