Gardaí in Fermoy are investigating a road traffic collision in which a
woman in her 30s was killed.
The collision occurred on the R628, Castlelyons to Conna (South East
of Fermoy) road at approximately 8:30am this morning when a car
collided with an SUV.
The woman driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and her
body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital. The
driver of the SUV, a man in his late 30s, was injured in the collision
and he was brought to Cork University Hospital where he is believed to
be in a stable condition.
The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision
investigation and local diversions are in place. Any witnesses or
