Visiting restrictions at Cork’s Mercy University Hospital (MUH) have been lifted and normal visiting arrangements have resumed.
MUH management have praised staff for dealing effectively with the recent cases of influenza and the winter vomitingbug at the hospital.Management have alsoacknowledged the difficulties experienced by patients and their families during this time and have sincerely thanked the public for their cooperation with the visiting restrictions.
The hospital continues to monitor the situation and people with flu-like symptoms are still being advised to telephone or visit their GPs, rather than presenting at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
